State Police Request Help Resolving the Murder of William Lewis Arwood - Occurred on August 9, 1953
Victim: William Lewis Arwood, White Male, 42 years of age.
Location: Southside Liquors, Henderson.
On August 9, 1953, a black male walked into the white section of the racially segregated bar. The victim had words with the black male. The black male returned and called the victim outside where he was shot two (2) times in the chest.
Note: On January 19, 1980, a subject called the Sacramento, California, Police Department and gave details of the murder. Upon further investigation the subject denied knowledge or the murder or even making the phone call.
