Cold Case of Michael Dean Bartley

State Police Request Help Resolving Michael Dean Bartley Murder - January 22,1998

On January 22,1998 at approximately 0530 hours, Michael Dean Bartley after returning from feeding his dogs was killed by an unknown person or persons. Mr. Bartley was struck several times in the head and died face down just inside his yard.

Mr. Bartley's wife Avonelle and daughter Ashley were inside the home at the time of the murder. Mr. Bartley's wallet containing $500.00 and a 44 caliber Ruger pistol was taken. The Bartley's live at Rt. 2 Box 189, which is 3 miles east of Ezel, Kentucky on Ky. Route 772.

Detectives investigating this case continue to follow up on leads as they develop. Detectives are asking for help from the community and any other person whom may have knowledge of this crime.
