Kentucky State Police Post 2 located in Madisonville is under the command of Captain Timothy “Tim” Adams . Captain Adams received his KSP commission August of 2017 and was appointed Post 2 commander in August 1 of 2017.

Princeton, KY. On Thursday, December 7, 2017, the Kentucky State Police Professional Association (KSPPA) District 2 conducted its 21st annual “Shop with a Trooper” (S.W.A.T.) program. This program is designed to assist provide children with items of need during the Christmas season.

Thirty-seven children, their families, KSP troopers, KSP families, KSP dispatchers, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement officers, and Kentucky Fish and Wildlife officers met at the Area 2 Fire & Rescue Training Center in Princeton. KSPPA Chapter 2 was able to provide pizza for everyone. Drinks and paper products were donated by the Wal-Mart of Princeton, and the Sonic Drive-In of Princeton treated all of the children to ice cream.

After dinner, personnel from Post 2, their families, CVE, and Fish and Wildlife assisted the children with their shopping at the Princeton Wal-Mart. The shopping lists consisted of several items including coats, pants, shirts, shoes, hats, gloves, and toys.

On Thursday, April 27, 2017, the Kentucky State Police Post 2 Madisonville held its graduation for the fifth KSP Post 2 Citizens Police Academy. The 11-week academy began on February 16 and concluded with its graduation on April 27th. The classes were held at the Hopkinsville Community College.

Captain Brent White, Post 2 Commander and Senior Trooper James Austin, Public Affairs Officer, were on hand to present the participants with their graduation certificates.

KSP has a toll-free number (1-800-222-5555) that citizens can call to confidentially report impaired drivers or criminal activity. They can also download the free KSP mobile phone app. The app provides quick, direct access to KSP including weather, road and traffic information as well as text, voice and photo tip capabilities to report criminal behavior. The app is available for iPhone, iPad and Android applications and can be easily downloaded free of charge through Apple and Google Play stores.
