Injury Collision on State Route 945 in Graves County

Date of News Release: 07/21/2008

(Hickory, KY) - Ms. Angela T. Mathis was Southbound on State Route 945 when her vehicle dropped off the right side of the roadway and she overcorrected. She lost control of the vehicle and crossed the centerline into oncoming traffic. Mr. James M. Ellegood was Northbound and was unable to avoid Ms. Mathis. The vehicles collided and the force of the collision caused Mr. Ellegood's vehicle to overturn.

A juvenile in Ms. Mathis' vehicle and Mr. Ellegood were both transported by Graves County EMS to Lourdes Hospital. Ms. Mathis was transported by private vehicle to Lourdes hospital. All three were treated and released. Trooper Fields was assisted on scene by Trooper Thomas Clifton, Trooper Byron White, Graves County EMS and the Viola Fire Department. The investigation is continuing by Trooper Fields.
