Fatal Collision on US 51 in Carlisle County

Date of News Release: 08/09/2008

(Mayfield, KY) - Catherine Walters was southbound on US 51 in Carlisle County when for unknown reasons she ran off the right shoulder of the roadway. Ms. Walters' vehicle then jumped a small driveway, becoming airborne, and impacting a tree. At that time, the vehicle overturned and came to rest on its roof in a large culvert. Ms. Walters was found deceased in the driver's seat. It was later determined that the victim in this collision was the subject of an attempt to locate issued last date by the Clinton County Illinois Sheriff's Office. Trooper Cook was assisted at the scene by the Carlisle County Sheriff's Office, Carlisle County Coroner, Carlisle County EMS, the Hickman County Sheriff's Office, Carlisle Rescue and the Milburn Volunteer Fire Department.
