Skull Located in Livingston County

(Salem, KY) On Sunday, August 10th, a human skull was discovered near the home of a Salem Kentucky residence. The Kentucky State Police responded to the home to conduct a preliminary investigation into the discovery of the remains.

On Monday, August 11th, the skull was transported to the office of Dr. Emily Craig at the Kentucky Medical Examiner's Office in Frankfort. Dr. Craig, a forensic anthropologist, concluded that the specimen was decades old, and had no forensic significance. An investigation remains open and is continuing by the Kentucky State Police.
