Fleeing and Evading 1st Investigation in Owensboro, KY

(Owensboro, KY) -- At 1:12am on December 14th, 2014, Kentucky State Police was conducting a traffic safety checkpoint in Owensboro, KY on the US 60 bypass at Highway 431. While conducting the checkpoint, Ryan Scott Clark, passed though the checkpoint at a high rate of speed in a Dodge Stratus and almost struck a trooper on scene. A pursuit was initiated for 25 miles, in which Mr. Clark ran though a fence at the Dairy Queen off New Hartford Road causing property damage. The pursuit continued near the Ohio county line on Highway 231 heading south. Mr. Clark then turned onto Highway 140, and continued west bound toward Highway 81. Mr. Clark then failed to negotiate a right hand turn due to traveling at a high rate of speed, and ran off into an earthen embankment causing his vehicle to become disabled. Mr. Clark was taken to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital due to injuries suffered in the accident. Mr. Clark was wanted for burglary charges out of Daviess County. Other charges are pending through Kentucky State Police at this time.
