DUI Injury Collision on KY 293 in Lyon County

(Hickory, KY) - On November 5 2014, at 9:58pm, the Kentucky State Police received a 911 call reporting a single vehicle rollover collision with ejection on KY 293 near the intersection of Liberty Road in Lyon County. Initial investigation by Trooper Daniel Holland reveals that Mr. Jason L. Dearing was operating a 1999 Chevrolet pickup west on KY 293 when the vehicle left the roadway, rolled, and came to a final rest in the upright position. Mr. Dearing was transported to Lourdes Hospital, but was later taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center for further treatment of injuries. Both passengers, Mr. Larry B. Baker and Richard M. Harper, were transported to Lourdes Hospital for treatment of their injuries. Due to injuries, Mr. Dearing was cited into court for Failure to Wear Seatbelt, Possession of Open Alcoholic Beverage Container in a Motor Vehicle, Driving under the Influence 1st, and Failure to Provide Insurance. The Kentucky State Police was assisted on scene by the Lyon County Sheriff's Department, Eddyville Police Department, Lyon County EMS, Eddyville Fire Department, and the Lyon County Rescue Squad. The investigation is ongoing by Trooper Holland.
