KSP Charges Ryan Champion On Indictment Warrants

(Cadiz, Ky.) - The Kentucky State Police presented their investigation thus far concerning Ryan Champion to a regular scheduled interim Trigg County Grand Jury on Wednesday, November 12, 2014. After hearing testimony from a Kentucky State Police Detective, the Grand Jury returned true bills on numerous capital offenses. Indictment warrants were issued and served by KSP Detectives later in the day after Circuit Judge C.A. Woodall, III issued indictment warrants against Champion following the Grand Jury's action.

Ryan Champion is charged with three counts of complicity to commit capital murder, one count of capital murder, and one count of complicity to capital kidnapping. The charges stem from a quadruple homicide in Trigg County on October 26, 2014 at the home of Champion's parents on Old Dover Road in Trigg County, whereby his mother, father, and sister were murdered. Also a suspect in the murders and kidnapping is Vito Y. Riservato (22) of Hopkinsville, KY. Riservato was also found murdered in the Champion residence; this offense relating to the single count of capital murder lodged against Ryan Champion.

Ryan Champion remains lodged in the Christian County Jail in lieu of a $5 million bond. KSP Detectives are continuing their investigation.

Arrest Made in Trigg County Quadruple Homicide

(Cadiz, KY) - Kentucky State Police Detectives have charged 36-year-old Ryan Champion with the deaths of his mother, father, and sister. He is also being criminally charged with the death of Vito Riservato. State Police has been actively investigating the murders of Joy Champion, Lindsey Champion, Emily Champion and Vito Riservato since they were found at the Champion's residence in Cadiz on October 26th. Since that time, investigators have been gathering evidence and speaking to a number or people culminating enough probable cause for an arrest warrant.

State Police have formally charged Ryan Champion with (4) counts of Capital Murder and (1) count of Capital Kidnapping. Champion is currently being processed at the Christian County Detention Center. The investigation is ongoing. Kentucky State Police has been assisted by Cadiz Police Department, Trigg County Sheriff's Office, Christian County Sheriff's Office, and Hopkinsville Police Department.

Update: KSP Investigating Four Deaths at a Trigg County Residence

Date of News Release: 10/29/2014

(Hickory, Ky.) - The Kentucky State Police continue their investigation into the deaths of four people that were killed Sunday morning in Trigg County. Autopsies were completed on Tuesday, October, 28, 2014 by the Kentucky Medical Examiner's Office in Madisonville, KY. The Medical Examiner’s preliminary findings indicate that all four died of gunshot wounds.

Update: KSP Investigating Four Deaths at a Trigg County Residence

(Cadiz, Ky.) – The Kentucky State Police are still processing the crime scene in Trigg County. The last body in the residence has been identified as Vito Y. Riservato, 22 of Hopkinsville, KY.

KSP remains on the scene and continues the investigation.

 

Update: KSP Investigating Four Deaths at a Trigg County Residence

(Cadiz, Ky.) – The Kentucky State Police are still processing the crime scene in Trigg County. KSP has identified three of the shooting victims, B Lindsey Champion (62), Joy A. Champion (60), and Emily K. Champion (31). The fourth name will be released after the next of kin has been notified.

KSP remains on the scene and continues the investigation.

 

KSP Investigating Four Deaths at a Trigg County Residence

Date of News Release: 10/26/2014

(Cadiz, Ky.) - KSP is currently on a shooting scene at a residence on Old Dover Road in Trigg County. KSP was called to the scene on Sunday October 26, 2014 at 11:44 AM. KSP found four people shot to death in and around the residence. KSP is not currently seeking a suspect, as the suspect is believed to be one of the deceased that was found. All names are currently being withheld but will be released at a later date, after further investigation.

KSP is being assisted at the scene by the Trigg County Sheriff's Office, Cadiz Police Department, Trigg County EMS, Trigg County Rescue and the Trigg County Coroner. Detectives with the Kentucky State Police are continuing their investigation.
