Hopkinsville Man Charged With Identity Theft

Princeton, KY (Caldwell County) - The Kentucky State Police has charged a Hopkinsville man with identity theft after conducting an investigation.

On Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at approximately 4:55 p.m., Trooper First Class Chris King arrested Daron D. Bell, 36, of Hopkinsville, KY, at his residence on Greenhill Road. Mr. Bell was charged with one count of Theft of Identity of Another Without Consent which is a class D felony.

An investigation began on March 6, 2014 after the KSP was contacted by the Woodall Agency, Inc. in Princeton, KY. The agency reported that a subject, identified as Mr. Bell, entered their business and inquired about wealth management services. While there, Mr. Bell distracted the receptionist and took paperwork that contained personal information of one of their clients. At the time of his arrest, Mr. Bell had the stolen paperwork in his possession. He was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
