Two-Vehicle Injury Collision on KY 189 Bypass

Greenville, KY (Muhlenberg County) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a two-vehicle, injury collision that occurred on KY 189 Bypass, at the intersection of KY 189 and Doss Rd, on Friday, March 14, 2014, at 4:25 p.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a Juvenile, was operating a 2000 Ford Escort northbound on KY 189 when the operator stopped underneath a green traffic control light in the middle of the intersection. As the vehicle stopped, a 2011 Ford F-250, being operated by Gary Carver of Central City, KY, struck the Ford Escort in the rear. Both the Ford Escort and Ford F-250 came to rest in the emergency lane on the right side of the roadway.

The Juvenile was transported via ambulance to Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment. Both operators were wearing seatbelts. There were no passengers involved.

Trooper Jacob Fortney investigated the collision. The Muhlenberg County Sheriff's Department and Muhlenberg County EMS assisted at the scene.
