Injury Collision on KY 630

Manitou, KY. (Hopkins County) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a single vehicle collision on KY 630, just north of Wolf Hollow Road on Friday, April 25, 2014, at approximately 6:29 AM. Tracy Wood, 53, of Madisonville, KY was operating a 1988 Ford Econoline Van southbound on KY 630, approximately two miles north of Manitou during light rainfall. According to Mr. Wood, a vehicle traveling northbound crossed into the southbound lane of travel and continued traveling in the middle of the roadway. Mr. Wood stated that he then swerved, causing his vehicle to exit the southbound shoulder of the roadway where it made contact with a culvert. The impact caused the vehicle to overturn, striking a utility pole and coming to final rest upright. Mr. Wood's vehicle came to final rest just off the southbound shoulder of the roadway, facing northwest. Tracy Wood was transported by Med-Center Ambulance to Baptist Regional Medical Center for minor injuries. The collision is under investigation by Trooper Ben Sawyer. Trooper Sawyer was assisted at the scene by Manitou Fire Department and Med-Center Ambulance.
