Two Vehicle Injury Collision On KY 109

Beulah, KY (Hopkins County) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a two-vehicle, injury collision that occurred on KY 109, approximately one mile south of Beulah, on Monday, August 25, 2014, at 10:26 a.m.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Agusta Hallum, 35, of Dawson Springs, KY, was operating a 1997 Oldsmobile Regency northbound on KY 109. Kandy Cotton, 39, of Dawson Springs, KY, was operating a 1998 GMC Jimmy northbound on KY 109 traveling behind Ms. Hallum's vehicle.
As Ms. Hallum was slowing for traffic, her vehicle was rear-ended by Ms. Cotton's vehicle. Both vehicles came to rest off the northbound shoulder of the roadway.
Ms. Cotton was transported via ambulance to Baptist Health Madisonville for treatment. Ms. Hallum was not injured. Her passenger (brother), Christopher Hallum, 37, of Dawson Springs, KY, was transported by PHI Air Medical to St. Mary's for treatment. All occupants were wearing seatbelts.
Trooper Ben Sawyer investigated the collision. The Charleston Volunteer Fire Department and Medical Center Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
