Traffic Stop Leads To Felony Arrest

Drakesboro, KY (Muhlenberg County) - A Dunmor man was charged with a felony after being stopped for equipment violations.
On Sunday, October 19, 2014, at approximately 6:06 p.m., Trooper Jon McGehee conducted a traffic stop on a 1998 Pontiac, passenger car on KY 176. The operator was identified as Mark S. Williams, 41, of Dunmor.
During the course of the stop, Tpr. McGehee determined that Mr. Williams was impaired and subsequently placed under arrest. A search of the vehicle produced a concealed, semi-automatic handgun.
Mr. Williams was lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center on the following charges:
- Improper Equipment (Violation)
- Excessive Window Tinting (Violation)
- Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence 1st Offense (B Misdemeanor)
- Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon (C Felony)
