Two Vehicle Injury Collision On US 431

Dunmor, KY (Muhlenberg County) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a two-vehicle, injury collision that occurred on US 431, approximately three miles north of Dunmor, on Tuesday, October 28, 2014, at 11:23 a.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Wilbur Dukes, 75, of Dunmor, was operating a 1996 Chevrolet Silverado northbound on US 431. Howard Snyder, 72, of Greenville, was operating a 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche southbound on US 431.

Mr. Dukes lost control of his vehicle on the wet roadway. It crossed the centerline and struck Mr. Snyder's vehicle head-on in the southbound lane. Mr. Dukes' vehicle exited the northbound shoulder of the roadway and came to rest upright down an embankment. Mr. Snyder's vehicle exited the southbound shoulder of the roadway and came to rest upright in a ditch.

Mr. Snyder and his passenger (wife), Georgia Snyder, 70, were transported via ambulance to Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment. Mr. Dukes was not injured. All occupants were wearing seatbelts.

Trooper Craig Engler investigated the collision. Trooper Jerrod Hearld, the Beechmont Volunteer Fire Department, and Muhlenberg County EMS assisted at the scene.
