Two Vehicle Injury Collision On Greenville Road
White Plains, KY (Hopkins County) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a two-vehicle, injury collision that occurred on Greenville Road, in front of the Prairie Rose Café in White Plains, on Saturday, November 1, 2014, at 1:58 p.m.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Ronald Lee, 65, of White Plains, was operating a 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis eastbound on Greenville Road. Devin Gilkey, 20, of Nortonville, was operating a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado westbound on Greenville Road.
Mr. Lee was attempting to make a left turn into the Prairie Rose Cafe and crossed into Mr. Gilkey's path of travel. Mr. Gilkey was unable to avoid a collision and struck the passenger side of Mr. Lee's vehicle. Both vehicles exited the westbound side of the roadway.
Mr. Gilkey's passenger, Kaeli Wester, 17, and Mr. Lee were transported via ambulance to Baptist Health Madisonville for treatment. Mr. Gilkey was not injured. All occupants were wearing seatbelt.
Trooper Ben Sawyer investigated the collision. Trooper Ryan Fox, the White Pains Fire Department, and Med Center EMS assisted at the scene.
