Felony Arrest in Hart County

(Bowling Green, KY.) - On October 11, 2014, at approximately 11:46 p.m., Troopers Wesley Medley and Graham Rutherford responded to the area of 1880 Hammonsville School House Road, in Hart County, in reference to the report of a stolen vehicle. While in route, KSP Post 3 was advised that a garage, located at 1614 Hammonsville School House had been burglarized, in which several items had been stolen. Trooper Wesley Medley located the stolen vehicle, which had been abandoned, in front of 169 Hammonsville School House Road. Several tools and other items were located in the vehicle, which were determined to have been stolen from the garage located at 1614 Hammonsville-School House Road.
While Troopers Medley and Rutherford were processing the scene, KSP Post 3 received the report of another burglary in progress, at a nearby residence, located at 11443 Hammonsville Road. The homeowner advised that they had the perpetrator (later identified as Daniel R. Seidler, 39, of Magnolia) restrained inside their residence. Upon arrival of Troopers Medley and Rutherford,Mr. Seidler was able to flee from the homeowners and upon observing the Troopers, ran back into the basement of the residence, where he barricaded himself in a bedroom. At approximately 1:58 a.m., Troopers were able to take Mr. Seidler into custody.
Mr. Seidler was arrested and lodged in the Hart County Jail on the following charges: Burglary 1st Degree; Burglary 3rd Degree; Theft by Unlawful Taking-Automobile; Theft by Unlawful Taking Under $ 500; Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree; and Resisting Arrest.
Troopers Medley and Rutherford are continuing this investigation. They were assisted on scene by: Sgt. Tucker Carmichael, Troopers Carlock and Wathen, Horse Cave Police Officer Roberts and the Larue County Sheriff's Office.
