Update: Troopers Actively Investigating Armed Robbery of Elderly Woman

(ROCKPORT, KY) - Kentucky State Police Detective Matt Wise charged two men in connection with the robbery of a Rockport woman. KSP charged Dustin C. Beck, 34 of Louisville with Robbery 1st, Burglary 1st and Kidnapping. Beck, who was being held in the Louisville Metro Correctional Facility on unrelated charges, was officially charged yesterday evening. All three charges are felonies and he is being held at said facility.

Evidence located inside the residence by detectives linked Beck to the crime which led to his arrest.

Detectives also charged Allen Herald Jr, 35 of Greenville with the same charges (Robbery 1st, Burglary 1st and Kidnapping). Detectives say Herald acted as Beck's transport to and from the crime scene. Herald Jr is being held in the Ohio County Detention Center in Hartford.

The investigation is still on-going.

Troopers Actively Investigating Armed Robbery of Elderly Woman

(ROCKPORT, KY) - A Ohio County woman is doing well after she reported to authorities she was tied up in her own home and robbed at knife point. Detectives with the Kentucky State Police say the robbery occurred in the 9300 block of U.S. 62, in the Rockport community. Approximately 4:30pm yesterday (05-11-15), the female victim stated a clean-cut man knocked on her back door and asked to use her phone due to an emergency. She allowed the suspect into her home. He then brandished a large knife and threatened her life if she didn't produce money. The suspect ordered her into another room where he restrained her in a chair using duct tape. He then rummaged throughout her home and left with a undermined amount of cash.

The female victim stated the suspect was a WHITE MALE/ 5'5"/ 150lbs/ wearing a NAVY BLUE POLO SHIRT/ KHAKI PANTS and GLASSES.

He left on foot in a unknown direction.

During the interview process, locals have told troopers that there has been a rash of recent attempted burglaries in the area; however, they were not reported to law enforcement. KSP troopers and local authorities will be providing additional patrols in the Rockport, Echols, McHenry and Centertown areas.
