Multi-Agency Drug Investigation in McCracken County

(Hickory, KY ) - A multi-agency investigation involving the Kentucky State Police, McCracken County Sheriff's department, Marshall County Sheriff's department and ATF has lead to the disruption of a large scale methamphetamine operation in McCracken County. After several days of covert investigation, a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle near Exit 11 in McCracken County. During a probable cause search of the vehicle, approximately 1.5 pounds of crystal methamphetamine was located along with a loaded 9 MM semi-automatic handgun .

The investigation revealed that the drugs and handgun belonged to 49-year-old Cary Moss of Marshall County, a passenger in the vehicle. Moss was taken into custody and charged with 2 counts of trafficking in methamphetamine more than 2 grams 1st offense, convicted felon in possession of a handgun and carrying a concealed deadly weapon. He was lodged in the McCracken County jail and the investigation is on going.
