KSP arrest Hickory woman for DUI after striking the Graves County Sheriff's vehicle

(Mayfield, KY) - The Kentucky State Police responded to a non-injury collision at the intersection of US 45and KY 121 bypass in Mayfield on Tuesday March 17, 2015 at 09:26 A.M. Initial investigation shows Graves County Sheriff, Dewayne Redmon, was traveling south on US 45 and was stopped for a red light at the intersection. Valda M. McClain, 65 of Hickory, was traveling south on US 45, driving a 2006 Chevrolet minivan and failed to stop. McClain ran into the rear of Sheriff Redmon's marked police cruiser causing moderate damage to both vehicles. No injuries were reported and both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the collision.
McClain was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol/ Drugs 1st Offense, Failure of Owner To Maintain Required Insurance 1st Offense, and License to be in Possession. McClain was lodged in the Graves County Jail. The investigation continues by Trooper Johnson Gordon.
