Post 1 Trooper Receives DUI Award

(Hickory, KY) -- The Kentucky Office of Highway Safety recently held its annual Governor's Impaired Driving Enforcement Awards ceremony in Louisville. The event, which took place on December 2nd, honored 142 officers from 117 law enforcement agencies from across the Commonwealth.
Statewide in 2014, there were 4,334 crashes involving alcohol which resulted in 156 fatalities and 2,067 injuries. Agency-wide, the KSP made 7,225 DUI arrests in 2014.
Locally, a Kentucky State Police Trooper from Trigg County was recognized for being the impaired driving enforcement leader for Kentucky State Police, Post 1. Trooper Nathan Clinkenbeard was recognized for making 50 impaired driving arrests from October 1st, 2014 through September 30th, 2015. Trooper Clinkenbeard has been employed by the Agency since 2009 and is a native of Cadiz in Trigg County. Pictured with Trooper Clinkenbeard is Kentucky Office of Highway Safety Director, Bill Bell.
