Elkton Woman Charged With Multiple Offenses After Traffic Stop

Sharon Grove, KY (Todd County) - The Kentucky State Police has charged an Elkton woman with several drug and traffic-related offenses after conducting a traffic stop.
On Sunday, February 8, 2015, at approximately 5:10 p.m., Trooper Curtis Crick conducted a traffic stop on KY 106, near Sharon Grove, on a vehicle operated by Paula A. Watkins, 50, of Elkton.
During the stop, Trooper Crick determined that Ms. Watkins was impaired, and was subsequently arrested. Ms. Watkins was transported to the Todd County Detention Center. During a search of her person, conducted inside the detention center, Todd County deputy jailers located several bags of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Ms. Watkins was lodged in the Todd County Detention Center and charged with the following offenses:
- DUI 1st Offense
- Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense - Meth
- Tampering with Physical Evidence
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Promoting Contraband 1st Degree
