Single Vehicle Injury Collision on US 60

Marion, KY (Crittenden County) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a single-vehicle, injury collision that occurred on US 60, approximately ten miles east of Marion, on Tuesday, July 7, at 1:00 p.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Charlotte Walker, 49, Sturgis, was operating a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier eastbound on US 60 when she met another vehicle on her side of the roadway in a curve. Ms. Walker's vehicle dropped off the right shoulder of the roadway. She overcorrected and lost control. The vehicle crossed the roadway and exited the left side. It struck an earth embankment and came to rest upright, off the road.

Ms. Walker and her passenger, Jacob Walker (no relation), 24, Marion, were transported via ambulance to Crittenden Health Systems for treatment. Both occupants were wearing seatbelts.

Trooper First Class Darron Holliman investigated the collision. The Mattoon Volunteer Fire Department and Crittenden County EMS assisted at the scene.
