KSP Charges Webster County Man

Madisonville, KY (Hopkins County) - The Kentucky State Police charged a Webster County Man after he fled a Traffic Safety Checkpoint Wednesday night.
The Kentucky State Police held a Traffic Safety Checkpoint at State Route 70 at State Route 175 at 9:28 p.m. in Muhlenberg County when the operator of a 2002 Chevrolet Impala drove off.
The operator, Michael McCallister, 37, Clay, led Troopers west on State Route 70 into Hopkins County before he stopped at the 38 mile marker on the Pennyrile Parkway.
Mr. McCallister was transported by Troopers to Baptist Health E.R. for treatment. Mr. McCallister was charged by Trooper Ward with Fleeing and Evading Police, 1st Degree Motor Vehicle); Speeding 26 mph over the limit; DUI 1st Offense, Aggravating Circumstances; five counts of Wanton Endangerment, 1st Degree; two counts of Criminal Mischief, 3rd Degree; Reckless Driving; Disregarding Stop Sign; Disregarding Traffic Control Device (traffic light); two counts of Failure To/Improper Signal; Improper Use of Left Lane/Overtaking Vehicle; No Other State Registration Receipt; Failure of Owner to Maintain Required Insurance, 1st Offense; Resisting Arrest; Assault 3rd Degree, Police Officer.
Trooper McGehee, Trooper Fortney, Trooper Kromer, the Hopkins County Sheriff's Office and Hopkins County EMS assisted at the scene.
