Single Vehicle Injury Collision on Pennyrile Parkway

Sebree, KY (Webster County) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a single-vehicle, injury-collision that occurred on the Edward T. Breathitt Pennyrile Parkway, at approximately the 61 mile-marker, on Sunday, December 27, at 11:30 a.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Jason Taylor, 40, Gwennitt, GA, was operating a 2014 Jeep Cherokee southbound on the parkway when he lost control of the vehicle on the wet roadway. The vehicle exited the left shoulder of the roadway and traveled into the median. It continued through the median and crossed the northbound lanes. The vehicle struck a guardrail where it came to rest facing southbound in the northbound emergency lane.

Mr. Taylor and his wife, Leslie Taylor, 39, were not injured. Their son, Carson Taylor, 6, was transported via ambulance to Baptist Health Madisonville where he was treated and released. Mr. and Mrs. Taylor were wearing seatbelts. Carson Taylor was restrained in a booster seat.

Trooper Jonathan Murphy investigated the collision. The Webster County Sheriff's Department, the Sebree Volunteer Fire Department, and the Webster Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
