Injury Collision on I-65 Resulting in DUI Arrest

(Munfordville, KY) - On Saturday, August 29, 2015 at approx. 7:19 pm the Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green received a call of a vehicle northbound on Interstate 65 driving all over the roadway where Troopers were dispatched to observe for it.
It was observed moments later still traveling northbound at the 65 mile marker driving on the rims right before it struck the right barrier wall in the construction zone and then colliding with the left concrete barrier wall, pushing the barrier into the southbound lane.
The preliminary investigation indicated Osmar Diaz-Vazquez (23) of Louisville was operating the 2003 Cadillac pickup and was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital before being transferred to the University of Louisville Hospital for his injuries.
Diaz-Vazquez was released from the hospital this morning where he was arrested and lodged in the Hart County Jail. He was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs 1st Offence (Aggravating Circumstance), Wanton Endangerment 2nd Degree, Possession of Open Alcoholic Beverage Container in Motor Vehicle Prohibited, Failure To Produce Insurance Card, Reckless and Careless Driving, No Operators License, No Seat Belt, and Improper Equipment.
The investigation is still ongoing and being led by Trooper Jason Adkison.
