Date of News Release: 09/17/2015
(Rich Pond, KY) - On Thursday, September 17, 2015 at approx. 2:14 pm Trooper Joe Gregory with the Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green made a traffic stop on US 31W at the Rich Pond Market for a traffic violation. After he made contact with the driver and was in the process of identifying him, the subject fled in the vehicle.
The pursuit made its way through the Rich Pond Baptist Church property and then onto KY 242, also continuing through some yards before entering a field off of KY 242 where the driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot. The passenger was detained while the search for the driver was conducted. The subject did flee in the area of the South Warren Schools so a decision was made by the schools to go into lock down until it was safe to do otherwise. After the search area was narrowed down, police assisted in allowing the schools to dismiss after a short period of time.
The area in which the subject was last seen was searched thoroughly by several Troopers, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officers, and the Warren County Sheriff's Department, along with the aid of their canine. The subject was not located at this time, but was identified and warrants will be sought in reference to this incident. His information will not be released at this time, but it is believed that he fled due to having several outstanding warrants.
The investigation is still ongoing and being led by Trooper Joe Gregory. Further information in regards to this case will be released as they become available.
