Vehicle versus Train Collision

(La Grange, KY) - One person was injured today (03/02) in the La Grange community of Henry County. Kentucky State Police dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call at approximately 3:45 p.m. that a vehicle had collided with a train. Preliminary investigation states that the vehicles operator, Jeffrey S. Delahanty (47) of La Grange, for unknown reasons, disregarded illuminated rail road crossing warning lights, and collided with the engine of the train operated by CSX. Mr. Delahanty was mechanically extricated from the vehicle and flown from the scene with serious injuries. Charges against Mr. Delahanty are expected to be filed.
Trooper Patrick Stucker is leading the ongoing investigation. Trooper Stucker was assisted at the scene by Trooper Mitchel Hazelett, Trooper First Class Dusty Corbin, CSX, Henry County Sheriff's Department, Henry County EMS, Lake Jericho Fire Department, and Air Methods.
