Trimble County Magistrate Arrested

(Bedford, KY) - On Wednesday evening (4/8) Kentucky State Police Post 5 received a 9-1-1 call with individuals arguing in the background. As a result, Troopers from the Campbellsburg Post arrived at 123 Havens Avenue in Bedford for a welfare check. When Troopers arrived, the occupants were actively involved in a domestic violence dispute. Subsequently, Trimble County Magistrate, Donald W. McCarty (66) was arrested for Assault 4th degree, domestic violence. Mr. McCarty was lodged at the Carroll County Detention Center. Furthermore, an Emergency Protective Order was granted for the assaulted victim.
