Couple Charged with Theft Related Offenses in Ohio County
Hartford, KY. (October 17, 2016) - Kentucky State Police Detective Matt Wise charged 42 year-old Lori A. Main of Philpot, KY with one (1) count of Theft by Unlawful Taking Over $10,000 or More but Under $1,000,000 and one (1) count of Unlawful Access to Computer 1st Degree. Kentucky State Police Detectives also charged 53 year-old Clinton E. Main of Philpot, KY with one (1) count of Theft by Unlawful Taking Over $10,000 or More but Under $1,000,000, which is a C-Felony.
The investigation was initiated by the Kentucky State Police in September 2015 after allegations of missing funds were reported to KSP by a member of the Living Faith Baptist Church in Hartford, KY. Lori Main was the treasurer of the church during the time of the reported missing funds. It is believed Lori Main has been unlawfully misappropriating funds since 2011, totaling over $300,000.
KSP's Drug Enforcement/Special Investigations Auditor perform a full audit on the church records, which will assist KSP detectives in the on-going case.
The investigation was presented to the Ohio County Grand Jury on Wednesday, October 5, 2016, which issued the indictment warrants for both Lori and Clinton Main.
The couple is being held in the Ohio County Detention Center in Hartford, KY on a $25,000 cash bond.
