Fatal Collision on Nashville Road in Warren County

(Woodburn, KY) - The Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green responded to a two vehicle injury collision today at approx. 4:10 pm in the 11,000 block of US 31-W Nashville Road in Warren County that resulted in the death of one person.
The preliminary investigation indicated that William Alford (60) of Bowling Green was operating a white 2000 Chevrolet SUV and was traveling northbound on Nashville Road when it appeared that he crossed the center-line of the roadway and struck a southbound vehicle head-on. That vehicle was a gold 2006 Chevrolet SUV and was operated by Amy McKeown (37) of Bowling Green. After the vehicles collided, Alford's SUV overturned resulting in him being ejected. His vehicle came to rest on its side and caught fire.
Mr. Alford was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Warren County Coroner's Office and he was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the collision.
Ms. McKeown and her passenger, Dallas Thorton (13) of Bowling Green, were transported by the Medical Center EMS to the Medical Center of Bowling Green for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Both were wearing their seat belts at the time of the collision.
The investigation is still ongoing and being conducted by Trooper Chad Smith. He was assisted on the scene by Sergeant Tucker Carmichael, Troopers Joe Gregory and Brad Harper, the Medical Center EMS, Warren County Coroner's Office, and the Woodburn Volunteer Fire Department. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the collision and no further details are available for release at this time.
