Traffic Stop Leads to Felony Arrest in Warren County

(Bowling Green, KY) - Trooper Chad Smith of the Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green made a traffic stop on a 1999 Buick passenger car, that was being operated by Holley Trowbridge (26) of Bowling Green, on the William Natcher Parkway in Warren County last night at approx. 7:34 pm for a traffic violation. Through the course of the investigation Trooper Smith was assisted by Trooper David Hall and his canine where a small amount of marijuana was located. Also located in the vehicle was a .38 caliber handgun that had been admittedly concealed by the passenger, Jim Thomas Jr. (41) of Nashville, TN. There was also a white powder believed to be cocaine located on Mr. Thomas and it was also determined that he was a convicted felon.
The operator of the vehicle, Ms. Trowbridge, was cited and charged with:
- Possession of Marijuana
- Drug Paraphernalia Possession
- Careless Driving
The passenger, Mr. Thomas, was arrested and lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail and charged with:
- Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon
- Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Drug Unspecified)
The investigation is still ongoing and being conducted by Trooper Chad Smith and he was assisted by Trooper David Hall and his canine. No further details can be released at this time.
