Single Vehicle Injury Collision on Interstate 65

Bowling Green, KY (June 24, 2016) - The Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green responded to a single vehicle injury collision today at approx. 2:28 pm on Interstate 65 at the 17 mile marker northbound in Warren County.
The preliminary investigation indicated that Teresa James(52) of Franklin was operating a 2005 Toyota Camry and was traveling northbound on I-65 when the right rear tire of the vehicle blew out causing her to lose control. The vehicle then went off the right side of the roadway and struck a ditch where it overturned and came to rest on it's top. Ms. James and her passenger, Richard James (50) of Franklin, were both transported by the Medical Center EMS to the Medical Center in Bowling Green for non-life threatening injuries. Both occupants were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the collision.
The investigation is still ongoing and being led by Trooper First Class Mike Hatler. He was assisted on the scene by the Medical Center EMS, Simpson County EMS, Alvaton Fire Department, and the Bowling Green Fire Department.
