Fatal Collision Involving Train in Warren County

(Oakland, KY) - On August 10th, 2016 at approximately 10:15 am, the Kentucky State Police Post in Bowling Green received a call for service in reference to a collision with injuries involving a train at the intersection of Vine Street and Rasdall Street in Oakland.
The preliminary investigation indicates that Raymond Barry (28) of Atlanta, Georgia, was operating a 2000 Ford Pickup Truck when he attempted to enter the railroad grade crossing at the intersection of Rasdall Street and Vine Street in Oakland. Upon entering the railroad grade crossing, Mr. Barry failed to see an oncoming CSX train causing his vehicle to collide with the train. Mr. Barry was initially transported to the Medical Center in Bowling Green and later transferred to the University of Louisville Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries prior to arrival.
No other injuries were reported.
The investigation is ongoing and being led by Trooper Brett Coomes.
