Collision Involving Ambulance on KY 728

Brownsville, KY (September 19 2016) - The Kentucky State Police responded to a two vehicle injury collision yesterday at approx. 9:30 am on KY 728 in Edmonson County that involved an Edmonson County EMS Ambulance.
The preliminary investigation indicated that Brian Sanders (50) of Mammoth Cave was operating a 2010 Ford ambulance and was traveling west on KY 728 where he was responding to an emergency call for service with the emergency equipment activated. While traveling west he approached another westbound vehicle, a 2013 Ford Escape being operated by Danny Holland (61) of Louisville. As Sanders came upon Holland's vehicle, which was slowing, he proceeded to go around him when Holland made a left hand turn attempting to pull into the Blue Holler Cafe. At this point the front of the ambulance collided with the driver's side of Holland's vehicle.
Mr. Holland was transported by Edmonson County EMS to the Twin Lakes Hospital for treatment of possible injuries. No one else was injured in the collision.
The investigation is still ongoing and being led by Trooper Ashcon Karbasi. No other information is available for release at this time.
