One Dead After I-65 Accident

(GLENDALE, KY.) - Kentucky State Police Post 04 Troopers worked a two vehicle fatality accident on I-65 Sunday afternoon. On September 25, 2016 at approximately 12:40 P.M. EDST, Troopers responded to the 76 mile marker on I-65 just South of Upton on a report of a two vehicle accident. David Aldrich (53) and passenger Kimberly Aldrich (50), both of Crawfordsville, In. were operating a 1997 Harley Davidson Northbound on I-65 in the left lane. Timothy Sheehan (52) of Camilla, Ga. was operating a 2017 Peterbuilt Semi-Tractor Northbound on I-65 in the same location in the right hand lane. For unknown reasons the motorcycle driven by David Aldrich struck the rear left trailer fender of the Semi causing both occupants of the motorcycle to be ejected. David Aldrich was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hardin Co. Coroner's Office. Kimberly Aldrich was transported to University of Louisville Hospital with serious but non-lifethreatening injuries. Timothy Sheehan was uninjured. KSP was assisted on the scene by KSP CVE, Upton Fire Dept, Hardin Co. EMS and the Hardin Co. Coroner's Office. The accident is under investigation by KSP Trooper Brandon Brooks.
