One Killed in Henry County Crash

(Campbellsburg, KY) - One person was killed today, March 13, in a two vehicle collision at the 25 mile marker on I-71 in Henry County.
Kentucky State Police dispatchers received a call at 5:57 a.m. of a two vehicle collision on I-71 Northbound at the 25 mile marker. Preliminary investigation shows that a vehicle operated by Andrew Persanyi, 74 of LaGrange KY, was struck by another vehicle while both were traveling North on I-71 in Henry County. Both vehicles left the roadway and the vehicle operated by Persanyi overturned causing the driver to be ejected. Persanyi was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Henry County Coroner. Persanyi was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision. There were no passengers in either vehicle so no other individuals were involved.
The operator of the second vehicle was transported to Baptist Health Hospital in LaGrange by Law Enforcement where a blood test was performed due to the fact that the collision was a fatality.
Kentucky State Police is leading the ongoing investigation and reconstruction. Kentucky State Police Post 5 Troopers were assisted on scene by Henry County EMS and Fire, Oldham County Police, Oldham County EMS, and the Henry County Coroner's Office.
