Kentucky State Police Arrest Local Police Officer on Warrant

MAYFIELD, Ky.(August 17, 2017) – Troopers with the Kentucky State Police Post 1 have arrested a local police officer on a warrant Thursday, August 17. The warrant was issued in McCracken County on August 10 for Failure to Pay or Appear. The original charges related to this were filed by Paducah Police Department in February of 2017 and included Third Degree Forgery and Impersonating a Peace Officer. At the time of the original offenses, Blakney was not employed as a police officer.
At the time of his arrest by KSP Post 1 on August 17, 2017, Blakney was employed as a Police Officer for the City of Hickman, Kentucky. Blakney was taken into custody in Mayfield at approximately 1:00 p.m. He was lodged in McCracken County Jail.
