KSP Investigate Double Murder

Oak Grove, KY. (February 2, 2017) – The Kentucky State Police are currently on scene of a shooting that occurred at a residence on Arkansas Avenue that has left two adults dead and one juvenile injured. The shooting took place shortly after 7:30 p.m.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Jeremy Kenneth Demaree 32, Clarksville, TN, was in a domestic dispute with his wife. Demaree located her in Oak Grove and forced his way into the residence on Arkansas Avenue. Once inside, he fatally shot two people. A third victim, a 16 year old juvenile, was also inside of the residence and sustained minor injuries from a physical confrontation when they encountered Demaree. The juvenile was transported to Tennova Healthcare Hospital in Clarksville, TN for treatment of those injuries.

The shooter, Demaree, fled the scene with his small child, but was apprehended by Clarksville Police Department shortly after the shooting. Demaree’s child was not injured during the incident.

The names and ages of the victims will be released once next of kin has been notified. Autopsies will be scheduled at the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville. Both victims were soldiers in the U.S. Army.
