Two Vehicle Collision with Injuries

Madisonville (Hopkins County) A two vehicle collision with injuries was investigated by the Kentucky State Police.
On April 30, 2017, at 12:53 P.M., Trooper Jon McGehee, with the Kentucky State Police, responded to the scene of a two vehicle collision with injuries, approximately 1 mile north of Madisonville City Limits. Mr. Darren Morgan, Age 29 of Nebo, was operating his 2012 GMC pickup northbound on US Highway 41A. Mr. Cody Kromer, Age 33 of Providence, was operating his 2011 Honda minivan southbound, also on US Highway 41A. Mr. Morgan swerved to avoid colliding with a vehicle stopped in front of him. Upon doing so, he traveled across the center line and struck the minivan being operated by Mr. Kromer. Mr. Morgan’s vehicle then traveled off the west side of the roadway and struck a utility pole. Mr. Morgan’s vehicle came to final rest facing north, off the west side of the roadway. Mr. Kromer’s vehicle came to final rest facing south, in the north bound lane. Mr. Kromer’s passengers included Haley Kromer, 29 and three juveniles ages 10 months, 7 years and 8 years old. The three children and Mrs. Kromer were transported by Medical Center Ambulance Service to Baptist Health in Madisonville and treated for non-life threatening injuries. All occupants were properly restrained. Manitou and Nebo Fire Departments assisted at the scene.
