Collision with Injuries (Muhlenberg County)

BROWDER, KY (October 22, 2017) – The Kentucky State Police investigated a Two-vehicle collision that occurred on Tom Hall Rd, on Sunday, October 22, 2017, at 12:31 p.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed that David Baynes Jr, 42, of Browder, was operating a 2000 Suzuki motorcycle northbound on Tom Hall Rd. Mr. Baynes failed to negotiate a curve and overturned his motorcycle. Mr. Bayne’s motorcycle struck a 2015 Toyota, operated by Betty Mefford, 79, of Browder. Mrs. Mefford and Mr. Baynes were both transported to Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment to their injuries. Mr. Baynes was wearing a helmet and Mrs. Mefford was wearing a seatbelt.

Trooper Jacob Fortney investigated the collision. The Beechmont Fire Department and Owensboro Health - Muhlenberg County EMS assisted at the scene.
