Two facing Drug Charges after Traffic Stop

Hopkinsville, KY (Christian County) On Tuesday, October 24, at approximately 8:27 p.m., Trooper Hunter Carroll conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on US 68/80 (Russellville Road). Tpr. Carroll made contact with the driver, Gilbert Brown, 32, Hopkinsville. Brown appeared to be under the influence.
While Tpr. Carroll was speaking with Brown, Tpr. Daniel Holland observed the passenger, Brittany Terregrossa, 21, Hopkinsville, attempting to conceal an item on the floorboard. Tpr. Holland identified the item as a small, plastic bag containing suspected marijuana and multiple pills. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, the troopers located a plastic bag which contained over two ounces of suspected crystal methamphetamine.
Brown was charged with: one headlight, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance 1st degree, open alcohol container in a motor vehicle, trafficking in a controlled substance – methamphetamine (greater than or equal to 2 grams) – possession of drug paraphernalia, DUI, failure to notify address change to the Department. of Transportation, and failure to wear seat-belts.
Terregrossa was charged with: possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, trafficking in a controlled substance – methamphetamine (greater than or equal to 2 grams), and failure to notify address change to the Dept. of Transportation.
Both subjects were lodged in the Christian County Jail.
