KSP investigates fatal collision on US41A

On Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at approximately 10:29 p.m., Kentucky State Police were notified of a fatal vehicle vs. pedestrian collision on US41A (Fort Campbell Blvd.) approximately ½ mile south of Interstate 24.

Preliminary investigation revealed Lauren Concepcion, 23 years old of Fort Campbell was operating a Honda Civic southbound on US41A. Gary Green, 57 years old of Orlando, Florida was crossing an unlit portion of US41A on foot while wearing dark clothing. Mr. Green entered Mr. Concepcion’s lane of travel. Mr. Conception did not see Mr. Green and was unable to avoid striking Mr. Green. Mr. Green was thrown to the right shoulder of the roadway. All four occupants of the Honda Civic were wearing their seatbelts. Mr. Green was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision by the coroner. The investigation is ongoing by Trooper Crick. Oak Grove Police Department and Fire Department assisted at the scene.
