Lewisburg Woman Charged with Possession of Methamphetamine

Trenton, KY (Todd County) – The Kentucky State Police has charged a Lewisburg woman with possession of methamphetamine.
On Saturday, January 6, 2018 at approximately 3:44 P.M., Sergeant Jeff Ayres observed Alan Young, 35, of Hopkinsville, KY, operating a Blue Silverado at a high rate of speed and in a reckless manner on KY104, approximately 4 miles south of Trenton.
Sgt. Ayres initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle. During the traffic stop Sgt. Ayres detected drug activity, and a search of the vehicle uncovered drug paraphernalia and suspected methamphetamine. The passenger in the vehicle, Amy Belcher, 31, of Lewisburg, KY, stated the methamphetamine belonged to her. Ms. Belcher also had an active warrant for her arrest for Parole Violation.
Alan Young was lodged in the Todd County Detention Center and charged with the following:
1.) Speeding 26 MPH or >
2.) Reckless Driving
3.) Failure of Owner to Maintain Required INS/SEC, 1st Offense
4.) Operating on a Suspended or Revoked Operator’s License
5.) Drug Paraphernalia – Buy/Possess
Amy Belcher was lodged in the Todd County Detention Center and charged with the following:
1.) Possession Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Methamphetamine)
2.) Parole Violation
Sergeant Ayres was assisted by Trooper Hunter Carroll and the Todd County Sheriff’s Department.
