18 Year Old Facing Charges after Pursuit

Crofton, KY (Hopkins County) – On February 10, 2018, at approximately 8:48 P.M., Trooper Hunter Carroll observed a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado pull out of Huck’s gas station in a manner that caused his rear tires to break traction with the roadway and begin spinning. The vehicle then began to fish-tail as it entered the roadway.
Trooper Carroll activated his emergency equipment in attempt to stop the vehicle. The operator disregarded Trooper Carroll’s emergency equipment and continued west bound on Crofton Dawson Road. The pursuit ended when the operator lost control of his vehicle, went through a ditch, into a residential yard (causing damage to the yard), and back onto the roadway where it came to final rest on Crofton Dawson Road. The Operator was identified as Jordan Shepherd, 18 years old, of Hopkinsville, KY, who was arrested without further incident.
Mr. Shepherd was lodged in the Christian County Detention Center where he was charged with the following:
1.) Speeding 20 MPH over
2.) Reckless Driving
3.) Improper Start from Stopped Position
4.) Fleeing and Evading Police, 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle)
5.) Wanton Endangerment- 2nd Degree
6.) Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree
