Single Vehicle Collision Results in Fatality

Munfordville, KY (January 2, 2018)- A Hart County man is dead as a result of a single vehicle collision that occurred near Munfordville at 3:28 p.m. (CST). Kentucky State Police, Post 3 Bowling Green responded to Cub Run Highway, just north of the Munfordville community of Hart County, to investigate a single vehicle injury collision. Preliminary investigation has revealed that Darrel Cody Isaacs (24) of Munfordville, was operating a 2004 Mitsubishi passenger car, traveling northbound on Cub Run Road when, according to witnesses, Isaacs’ vehicle exited the right shoulder of the roadway striking a tree and fence post, causing the vehicle to overturn. Isaacs and two additional passengers, were ejected from the vehicle. All involved occupants appear to have been unrestrained at the time of the collision. All three were transported via medical helicopter from the scene and taken to the University of Louisville Hospital for treatment of injuries.

Issacs succumbed to his injuries, and was pronounced deceased at the University of Louisville Hospital at approximately 6:00 p.m. (CST). Christian Leeann Gibbons (20) of Hardyville, along with Brandon Lee Jaggers (31) of Munfordville, were admitted into the University of Louisville Hospital with serious physical injuries sustained in the collision.

The investigation is still ongoing and being led by Trooper Graham Rutherford. He was assisted on scene by Hart County EMS, Hart County Sheriff’s Department, Munfordville Police Department, Cub Run and Munfordville Departments, Hart County EMS, and other KSP personnel. No other details are available for release at this time.
