Arson Investigation in Georgetown, KY
Date of News Release: 06/20/2005
(Frankfort, KY.) - At 03:09 a.m. Monday 06-20-05 a residential structure fire was reported at 705 Burton Pike Georgetown, KY.
The Scott County Fire Department and Sheriff's Office responded to the scene.
It was discovered that two vehicles parked in front of the residence had been destroyed by fire and was believed that the fire(s) had spread to the residence. The home was occupied by Mr. Afterkirk, his girlfriend Amy Renee Gaines, and their three children. Mr. Afterkirk and Ms. Gains are also the proprietor's of the Oasis Restaurant located at 2176 Cincinnati Pike.
The restaurant was also found to have been vandalized with spray paint and numerous windows were broken.
The fire(s) were determined to have been intentionally set.
Anyone with information regarding this fire is asked to call the Kentucky Arson Hotline at 1-800-27-ARSON (1-800-272-7766). The Kentucky Arson Task Force will pay up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of an arsonist. Callers may remain anonymous.
