News Release

Investigation of Burglaries

Date of News Release: 05/21/2005

(Henderson, KY) - The Kentucky State Police, Daviess County Sheriff's Office, Hancock County Sheriff's Office, are investigating several burglaries that have occurred in recent weeks.

The East Side of Daviess County has had approximately 9 break-ins; the most recent of which was the home of a Kentucky State Police Sergeant in Knotsville on Wednesday. Cash, stereo, and computer equipment was stolen as well as several items of State Police property.

Hancock County has had a few break-ins also including the home of a deputy. Police are asking for help in finding those responsible. A white truck was seen at least one of the Hancock county burglaries and a brown extended cab truck was seen near the State Police officer's home. Merchants and banks are asked to call authorities if anyone cashes in a large amount of change, silver dollars, two-dollar bills or other unusual coins.

The Kentucky State Police Professional Association is offering a $500.00 reward for info that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the burglary of the Kentucky State Police officer's home.
