News Release

Stand Off With KSP in Ohio County, KY

Date of News Release: 07/13/2005

(Henderson, KY) - The Ohio County Sheriff Dept received a call from a suicidal subject at the Rockport Lock and Dam. A Nick Felix of Grayson County was located in the Beaver Dam area driving a Green Jeep. He was observed leaving the area towards Central City. Once subject entered the Muhlenburg County area a Muhlenburg Sheriff Deputy located the subject and attempted to make a traffic stop. Subject was pursued back into Ohio County where he wrecked the vehicle on the Beaver Dam Exit off of the Western Kentucky Parkway. A stand off ensued with the subject threatening to shoot himself. Trooper Jerry Critchelow was on the scene as a hostage negotiator. Subject surrendered to arrest to Trooper Critchelow. Neither the subject nor the officer were injured during the incident. Charges are pending.
