News Release

Burglary Investigation and Arrest Made in Daviess County, KY

Date of News Release: 10/02/2005

(Henderson, KY) - The Kentucky State Police has been investigating a string of burglaries at the Summit Country Club. A subject would enter the facility and remove money and alcohol. The burglaries were analyzed and it was determined that they were occurring on days following a busy money making day for the Summit. Surveillance details were conducted at the Summit over the last few days. On Sunday October 2, 2005 at approximately 1:00 A.M. a white male clothed in camouflage was observed breaking into the Summit Clubhouse. Trooper's Joe Woo, Zack Jones, and Paul Herron surrounded the clubhouse in an attempt to trap suspect inside. They were assisted by Daviess County Deputy Richard Coy and Officer Anthony Howard with Owensboro K-9 unit. The subject later identified as Nicholas Christian gave up without incident a short time later. Mr. Christian is cooperating with investigation. Troopers were granted permission to search Mr. Christian's Henderson County residence, there were 12 cases of beer and a small amount of cash recovered.
